Job Description
Guided by the Quality Assurance Specialists (QAS) and Office Engineer in Peshawar, the Trainee Engineer will participate in a structured training program. This program includes a variety of assignments that support reporting and senior management tasks, all while adhering to the standards set by CDM Smith and USAID. Trainees would be engaged as independent consultants. The training program will have a fixed duration of one year for this cohort.
Key activities for the Trainee Engineer include:
▬ Studying relevant literature for foundational knowledge.
▬ Learning applicable codes and standards.
▬ Attending meetings and mastering minute-taking.
▬ Conducting desktop and field research.
▬ Handling practical and administrative tasks as assigned.
▬ Accompanying senior engineers to project sites.
▬ Suggesting project improvements.
▬ Enhancing report-writing skills.
General Responsibilities
The trainee engineer will be involved in a variety of tasks to support project execution and team efficiency, including:
▬ Understanding project specifications and interpreting engineering drawings.
▬ Supporting senior staff in the writing, editing, and formatting of reports and deliverables.
▬ Assisting in the preparation of final reports alongside the project manager, office engineer, and senior staff.
▬ Compiling reports on-site visits and conducting site visits as needed.
▬ Engaging in meetings, workshops, and additional training activities.
▬ Analyzing data and contributing to its analysis.
▬ Developing skills in note-taking and preparing minutes for meetings.
▬ Proposing enhancements to reporting processes where feasible.
▬ Following health and safety guidelines strictly.
▬ Fostering professional relationships with team members.
▬ Demonstrating a strong commitment to professionalism and thoroughness in all tasks.

Equipment Used
▬ Personal computer, other standard office equipment, and lab/survey equipment.

Physical Working Conditions
▬ Based in the office, with intermittent travel to job sites, including areas in FATA, and government offices as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualification
▬ Recent graduate with BE/BSc. or MS in Civil, Electrical/Electronics, or Engineering Management.
▬ Be a domicile holder/Resident of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

▬ Strong analytical and mathematical abilities.
▬ Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
▬ Effective time management and a professional demeanor.
▬ A growth mindset and openness to feedback.
▬ Diplomacy, creativity, discretion, flexibility, resourcefulness, dependability, organization, friendliness, and emotional maturity.
▬ Capability to work efficiently under multiple supervisors and manage diverse tasks simultaneously.
▬ Skill in interpreting various documents, including letters, memos, and transmittals, in both digital and physical formats.
▬ High proficiency in computer use, especially with Windows and MS Office suite.
